abstract FIELD: pharmaceuticals. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical analysis, in particular to the analysis of materials using optical means. Method of quantitative determination of derivatives of 5-nitroimidazole in substances, which consists in dissolving the analyzed sample at room temperature and stirring until complete dissolution, the processing of an aliquot of the prepared solution with chemical reagents followed by photoelectric colorimetry of the colored solutions obtained, the quantitative determination of the target substance according to the calibration graphs, is characterized in that the exact weights of metronidazole substances, tinidazole, ornidazole, nimorazole or secnidazole is dissolved in isopropyl alcohol, the solution is treated with zinc dust in an acidic medium in the presence of ammonium chloride, heated in a water bath for 3–5 minutes, treated with a 0.5 % alcohol solution of anisic aldehyde in an acidic medium, incubated until a stable color appears; photoelectric colorimetry is carried out at a wavelength of 304 nm. n EFFECT: invention can be used in the quantitative determination of 5-nitroimidazole derivatives (group of nidazoles) in substances. n 1 cl, 6 dwg, 1 ex
