titleOfInvention | Compositions and methods for increasing palatability of dry pet food |
abstract | FIELD: agriculture. n SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agriculture. Dry pet food product comprising from 0.4 to 1.0 % by weight of a product of a salt of sorbic acid selected from a group consisting of potassium sorbate, calcium sorbate, sodium sorbate, and combinations thereof, and further comprises an ingredient selected from a group consisting of lipid, protein, carbohydrate, and combinations thereof. Disclosed are methods for producing a dry pet food. Method for increasing the palatability of dry pet food includes the introduction of 0.4 to 1.0 % by weight of a product of a salt of sorbic acid selected from a group consisting of potassium sorbate, calcium sorbate, sodium sorbate, and combinations thereof in at least one of the main part of dry pet food or composition for coating dry pet food. Method of feeding a pet involves using the dry food product. n EFFECT: invention enables to increase the palatability of dry pet food while preserving the crispness of dry granules over a long period of time. n 17 cl, 6 dwg, 28 ex |
