titleOfInvention | Ceramic material |
abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a ceramic material that can be successfully used to produce cutting tools and drills for processing plastics, reinforced with glass fibres and carbon fibres or graphite, as well as for cutting nickel-based alloys and ferrous metallurgy products. Ceramic material is produced by mixing aluminium oxide Al 2 O 3 , zirconium oxide ZrO 2 , yttrium oxide Y 2 O 3 , cerium oxide CeO 2 , lanthanum oxide La 2 O 3 and praseodymium oxide Pr 6 O 11 followed by sintering. In the finished material there is an aluminium oxide matrix in the amount of 55–90 vol. % and zirconium dioxide in the amount of 10–45 vol. %, wherein zirconium dioxide is at least 75 vol. % in a tetragonal modification and is chemically stabilised by a mixture of yttrium oxide and cerium oxide. Improved properties are achieved by the fact that 10–75 vol. % of the matrix of aluminium oxide is in the form of hexagonal plates with a composition of LaAl 11 O 18 , and the proportion of dopant praseodymium oxide is 0.1–1.0 vol. % of the entire mixture, during sintering, a mixed crystal of praseodymium oxide and aluminium oxide, lanthanum aluminate and / or zirconium oxide forms in the finished material. n EFFECT: technical result of the invention is an increase in mechanical strength and resistance to external effects. n 22 cl, 1 tbl |
