| abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a coating composition comprising a self-oxidizing alkyd resin and a desiccant composition. Desiccant composition comprises: a) an iron-ligand complex containing iron and at least one bispidine ligand; and b) a vanadium compound. Amount of the vanadium compound in the desiccant is such that the coating composition contains vanadium in a concentration in the range of from 0.01 to 1.0 % by weight. based on the weight of the solid alkyd resin.
