titleOfInvention Method for determining chewing efficiency
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, orthopedic dentistry, and can be used to determine chewing efficiency. Patient is offered to chew over 20 chewing movements a tasteless contrast nonpolymerized elastic high-viscosity impression material based on vinylpolysiloxane that does not break down when chewing, formed in the form of balls with a volume of 1.5 cm 3 two colors, placed on the right – a sand color material and the left one – a white material of the group of chewing teeth of the lower dentition. Resulting chewed mass is removed from the oral cavity and crushed between two glass plates to a thickness of 3 mm, photographed on both sides, resulting in a raster image of a polyvinylsiloxane binary mixed in the oral cavity, and analyzed using a computer program to determine the quality of mixing masses of different colors. Chewing efficiency is evaluated by the degree of mixing of the obtained chewed bicolour polyvinylsiloxane mass. Degree of mutual penetration of masses of white and sand colors in relation to their areas on each of the surfaces of the mass of the chewing material crushed between the plates is evaluated, the higher the degree of mixing, the higher the chewing efficiency. n EFFECT: method allows to determine the chewing efficiency of the patient only taking into account the relief of the occlusal surfaces of the antagonizing teeth in the conditions of the dental office on an out-patient basis for a minimum time with high accuracy and the ability to preserve the results of the sample in order to control the patient's chewing efficiency in dynamics. n 1 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
