abstract | FIELD: images forming devices. n SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an image forming apparatus. Claimed group of inventions includes an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge. Image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier, a charging unit configured to electrically charge the surface of the image carrier, a developing unit configured to display, by the toner, a latent electrostatic image formed on the image carrier by an exposure unit configured to perform exposure to light, a transfer unit configured to transfer the developed toner to the receiving member, and a cleaning unit configured to clean the residual toner from the toner remaining on the image carrier untransferred, the toner comprising: one or more surface additives; and base particles made of at least a binder resin and a coloring agent, the content of said one or more surface additives in the toner being from 4 parts by weight to 7 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the base particles, wherein the primary particles of at least one of said one or more surface additives have a number-average particle diameter of from 0.01 mcm to 0.05 mcm, the cleaning unit includes a squeegee with an elastic body, and the squeegee with the elastic body has a modulus of elasticity of the surface of 15 N/mm 2 up to 25 N/mm 2 and a coefficient of surface friction of 0.5 to 0.7 in its abutment portion adjacent to the image carrier. n EFFECT: technical result consists in providing an image forming apparatus, which can provide high-quality images by suppressing cleaning problems under various application conditions. n 12 cl, 7 dwg, 2 tbl |
