FIELD: technological processes. n SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of paper, plastics, paints, adhesives, food, feed, pharmaceutical products, concrete, cement, cosmetics, in water purification and agriculture. For the industrial production of the calcium carbonate-containing material, a substantially non-dispersant aqueous suspension of at least one calcium carbonate-containing material is provided. Aqueous slurry containing a solid in the range of from 10.0 to 80.0 % by weight, based on the total weight of the slurry, is wet-milled to obtain an aqueous suspension of at least one calcium carbonate-containing material with a weight average particle diameter d 50 less than 0.5 mcm. Resulting aqueous suspension is then dewatered, using a mechanical method, to form a filter cake. Resulting filter cake is deagglomerated. Dispersant is then added to the de-agglomerated filter cake and blended to obtain an aqueous slurry containing a solid in the range of 50.0 to 80.0 % by weight, based on the total weight of the aqueous slurry. n EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain coatings based on a calcium carbonate-containing material having high absorbent and light-scattering properties, improved gloss and the ability to replace titanium dioxide in appropriate applications. n 17 cl, 2 dwg, 4 tbl, 2 ex |
