abstract FIELD: optics; instrument engineering. n SUBSTANCE: immersion composition relates to optical material science and can be used as an immersion liquid in optical instrumentation in order to control the parameters of materials and optical parts, including large-size products of complex shape, and also in geology and mineralogy for the control and marking of samples of natural materials. Immersion composition contains the following components (wt%): polyvinylpyrrolidone (molecular weight Ms=1300000) 0.1–20, propanol-2 18.7–79, water 10–65, nitrate of at least one element that is selected from the group, which consists of Zn, Pb, Al, Na, Mg 0.1–10, the sulphide nanoparticle of at least one element that is selected from the group, which consists of Zn and Pb 0–10. n EFFECT: immersion composition provides for the uniform transparent coating at the room temperature on the glass surface, which has the refractive index 1.51–1.70. n 1 cl, 3 dwg, 4 tbl, 4 ex
