FIELD: pharmaceuticals. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improved process for formation of beta-phenylethylamine, which is widely used as a feedstock in the pharmaceutical industry. Method for producing beta-phenylethylamine is to reduce phenylacetonitrile with gaseous hydrogen in methanol in the presence of a Raney nickel catalyst at a temperature of 90 °C to 98 °C and a pressure of 5 to 25 atm with a molar ratio of the components phenylacetonitrile: hydrogen = 1:2. Method allows to obtain a product with a yield of up to 70 % and a content of the base material of 99 % for 3–4 hours. n EFFECT: wherein, it simplifies the process due to absence of the need to use absolute alcohol and ammonia, as well as the use of a simpler catalyst. n 1 cl, 1 tbl, 3 dwg |
