abstract FIELD: agriculture. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. Method includes preplant treatment of plant seeds and processing of vegetative plants with a growth regulator, the active ingredient of which is isolated from plant material. As a growth regulator, a biologically active complex of extractive substances is used, mainly containing betulin obtained by extracting birchbark. In this case, the preparative form of the preparation is a 2–15 % fine suspension of the biologically active complex in a liquid dispersion medium, which is an organic substance from the class of glycols. Preplant treatment of seeds is carried out at the rate of application of the preparation 40–200 g/t on a solid substance, and treatment of vegetating plants is carried out by spraying at least once in a dose of 100–400 g/ha on a solid substance during each treatment. From the class of glycols propylene glycol can be used as an organic substance. Extraction of birchbark is carried out using aliphatic alcohols selected as extractants from the group of alcohols with a number of carbon atoms 1–4. n EFFECT: method allows to increase the yield, the quality of the products obtained and the viability of crops, and to reduce the level of disease damage. n 3 cl, 13 tbl
