abstract FIELD: technological processes. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the preparation of a powder of an alloy of molybdenum and tungsten. Method comprises metallothermic reduction of their oxygen compounds to form a reaction mass containing a molybdenum and tungsten alloy powder, recovering the alloy powder from the reaction mass, and washing the powder with water. As oxygen compounds, molybdenum and tungsten are used MeMo x W 1-x O 4 or MeMoO 4 and WO 3 , or MeWO 4 and MoO 3 , where Me-Mg or Ca, 0<x<1, the metallothermic reduction being carried out with magnesium and / or calcium vapor in an argon and / or helium atmosphere at a pressure of 1–30 kPa and a temperature of 700–870 °C, and the alloy powder is recovered from the reaction mass by acidizing it. n EFFECT: increase in the specific surface area of the resulting alloy powder is provided, while increasing its purity. n 1 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex
