abstract | FIELD: microbiology; biotechnology. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiology and biotechnology. Method for modifying yeast S. pombe is proposed, which involves the transformation into the cell of the gene that carries out encoding of the Cre-recombinase, under the control of the inducible promoter together with the marker gene, the integration of the expression cassette that contains the DNA fragment and the marker gene, which is flanked with the loxP sites, cleavage of the marker gene along the loxP-sites due to the induction of the Cre-recombinase synthesis. During the transformation, the gene that encodes the Cre-recombinase, together with the marker gene, is integrated into the chromosome, the marker gene is flanked with the loxR sites, and after transformation up to the integration of the cassette, the marker gene is also cleaved along the loxP sites. Transformant for the production of lactic acid that is obtained by this method is also proposed and in which one or more alcohol dehydrogenase genes are inactivated or deleted, and one or more lactate dehydrogenase genes of the genus Lactobacillus are integrated in the chromosome. Using this transformant, the method for microbiological synthesis of lactic acid is carried out.
