FIELD: biotechnology. n SUBSTANCE: method of producing a capsular Haemophilus influenzae type b polysaccharide, application of the above mentioned capsular polysaccharide of for producing a vaccine formulation and method of producing a vaccine formulation. The method of producing capsular polysaccharide includes cultivation of Haemophilus influenzae type b strain in a cultural medium, collection and processing of the culture supernatant for extracting capsular polysaccharide. Moreover, the cultural medium contains zinc and does not contain a complex source of nitrogen or carbon.
