Polyethylene products |
abstract |
FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymeric articles obtained from a molten polyethylene composition comprising a nucleating agent and to the methods of preparing and moulding such polymer compositions. A polyethylene article contains crystalline polyethylene in an orthorhombic unit cell. The B-axis of crystalline polyethylene is substantially aligned with the machine direction of the article. In particular, the Herman index of axes b in the machine direction is greater than zero and greater than the Hermann indices of axes b in both transverse and normal directions. n EFFECT: obtained products have a more uniform tensile strength in the machine and transverse directions, higher strength in the machine direction, improved impermeability and higher deformation heat resistance. n 30 cl, 9 tbl, 4 ex |
