abstract | FIELD: metallurgical engineering. n SUBSTANCE: method comprises preparing a mixture of purified titanium tetrachloride and purified vanadium tetrachloride. Purified vanadium tetrachloride is obtained by chlorinating the purified vanadium oxytrichloride with carbon tetrachloride. The ratio of the mixture of purified titanium tetrachloride and purified vanadium tetrachloride is maintained in the range 1:(0.7-1.0). In this case, the mixture is supplied for restoration first for one hour at a delivery rate of the mixture of not more than 100 kg/h and then at a delivery rate of not more than 150 kg/h. During the supply of the mixture, a constant temperature and a constant overpressure of argon are maintained.
