titleOfInvention Energy recovery when producing sulphuric acid
abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: to produce sulfuric acid, sulfur is burned in a dry gas containing excess oxygen to produce a gas stream containing oxide and sulfur dioxide, oxygen and possibly water vapour. The gas stream is brought into contact with the catalyst to form sulfur trioxide and converting the gas stream into conversion gas. Steam is introduced into the conversion gas. The conversion gas is brought into contact with the absorbing liquid containing sulfuric acid in the primary heat regeneration absorption zone. Circulating the absorbing liquid between the primary absorption zone and the indirect heat exchanger. The heat released by the reaction of sulfur trioxide and water, the condensation of sulfuric acid and/or the absorption of sulfur trioxide, is transferred to the heat transfer fluid. n EFFECT: regeneration of energy in the production of sulfuric acid, reduction of fog formation in the absorption of SO 3 and controlling the sulfuric acid fog content in the gas stream exiting the SO 3 absorption step. n 25 cl, 24 dwg, 4 tbl, 7 ex
