abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: before performing a vitrectomy, two or more open tunneled cuts are made in sclera, corresponding to the width of outer magnetic sealant, and intrascleral implantation of one or more outer magnetic sealants is performed by inserting them into tunnel loops, formed by the open tunnel cuts. The outer sealant is a solid-metal plate of neodymium-iron-boron system magnet, formed as a bent plate with radius similar in size to the radius of eyeball bending, externally-covered with a biocompatible metal or a biocompatible elastomer. At least one flat element is used as the inner magnetic sealant, made of a silicone elastomer, filled with particles of a magnetically soft material, externally-covered with a biocompatible silicone elastomer, which isolates the particles of the magnetically soft material and prevents particles from contacting ocular tissues, providing pressing to underlying tissues of retina portion with area of not less than 2 mm 2 . n EFFECT: method enables not only to improve the effectiveness of surgical management of retinal detachment with serious PVR, but also to reduce the surgery duration and injury rate, which reduces the rehabilitation period. n 3 cl, 4 dwg, 2 ex |
