titleOfInvention | Abs-composition with improved surface following storage in a warm-humid environment |
abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermoplastic polymer compositions comprising vinylaromatic copolymers obtained by emulsion polymerization, to a process of preparation of these compositions, their use, and also to moulded articles or parts. The polymer composition contains, as component A) from 0 to 98 wt. parts of an aromatic polycarbonate in terms of the sum of components A and B, component B) from 2 to 100 wt. parts, in terms of the sum of A and B. Component B) consists of components B1), B2 and B3. As a component B1), the composition contains at least one graft polymer obtained during the emulsion polymerization process. As component B2), optionally, at least one graft polymer obtained in the course of bulk polymerization, suspension polymerization or solution polymerization. As component B3), optionally, at least one styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer free of rubbers. The composition contains, as component C), from 0 to 30 wt. parts of at least one conventional polymer additive. Mentioned composition comprises at least one inorganic salt consisting of a cation selected from the group of alkali metals, alkaline earth metals and aluminium and an anion selected from the group consisting of chloride, sulfate, nitrate, phosphate, acetate and formate in a concentration of 100 to 5000 mg/kg in terms of the composition. And this salt is present in the composition solely in the form of amorphous or crystalline inclusions with a size of less than 60 mcm. The compositions are particularly suitable for the manufacture of mouldings or moulded parts with a Class A surface and high gloss surface finish, which, if necessary, were partially or completely subjected to an additional stage of surface treatment by, for example, lacquering, film moulding in casting, metallization as a result of vacuum spraying or galvanizing. n EFFECT: invention provides products that are characterized by an improved surface after storage under heat and humidity conditions. n 13 cl, 1 tbl |
