abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: according to the proposed methodα, appropriate hydroxy acids, selected from the group, consisting of hydroxyacetic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, α-hydroxyglutaric acid, isocitric acid, tartaric acid and tartronic acid, or at least one salt of the corresponding α-hydroxy acid in the presence of at least one heterogeneous catalyst comprising at least one transition metal, in the presence of hydrogen and is reacted with at least one nitrogen compound, and nitrogen is used as the ammonia compound. The process is carried out at a temperature ranging from 150 to 280°C under a pressure ranging from 10 to 300 bar. The invention also relates to a mixture containing from 91 to 99.9 wt % racemic α-amino acid selected from the group consisting of glycine, alanine and the corresponding racemate, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, 1,2,3-aminopropane-tricarboxylic acid, 2-aminomalonic acid, 2-amino-3-gidroksiyantarnoy acid and 2,3-diaminoyantarnoy acid and 0.1 to 9 wt % corresponding α-hydroxy acids, the composition comprising such a mixture, and their use for the preparation of complexing agents. n EFFECT: proposed method allows to receive target αamino acids with high yield. n 12 cl, 1 tbl, 8 ex
