titleOfInvention Method for heat treatment of broaches with flat faces
abstract FIELD: metallurgy. n SUBSTANCE: broach is subjected to a three-stage heating, while in the first stage, it is heated for at least 1 hour in a chamber furnace with a temperature of less than 600°C, but exceeding 560°C, in the second stage, in a salt melt with a temperature above 850°C, but not exceeding 900°C, for a time determined from the ratio of 15-25 seconds per millimeter of the broach body width, at the third stage, in a molten salt with a temperature below 1,270°C, but not less than 1,160°C, for a time determined from the ratio of 10-15 seconds per millimeter of the broach body width, air cooling is conducted to 980-1,020°C, and then in mineral oil for 45-60 seconds to 590-610°C, magnitude and direction are determined of the longitudinal broach deflection, the hot broach is laid with a convex face on the calibration plate and the broach is moved on the calibration plate until its deflection is reduced to a predetermined value, and then the broach is cooled in a suspended position to the martensitic transformation temperature of the broach metal. n EFFECT: increased reliability and durability of broaches with flat faces. n 4 cl, 1 dwg
