Non-human animals with modified sequences immunoglobulin heavy chains |
abstract |
FIELD: biotechnology. n SUBSTANCE: genetically-modified non-human animals with a locus of immunoglobulin light chain containing one or more (but less than for the wild type) variable region gene segments of human immunoglobulin light chain, which may be functionally linked to the nucleotide sequence of the constant region of the light chain. Methods are also provided for obtaining nucleotide sequences that encode the variable domains of immunoglobulin light chains capable of antigen binding in the absence of the heavy chain. n EFFECT: said nucleotide sequence of the rearranged variable region of the human immunoglobulin heavy chain may be functionally linked to the nucleotide sequence of the constant region of the light or heavy chain. n 27 cl, 107 dwg, 8 tbl, 8 ex |
