abstract FIELD: pharmacy. n SUBSTANCE: method for producing melanin from sunflower husks, comprising water washing of unmilled sunflower husks, drying, extraction with sodium hydroxide solution, filtering; in this case and the prepared sunflower husk is milled, the extraction is carried out stepwise, the extracts are combined and added with 25% hydrochloric acid solution with stirring, the resulting melanin flocculent precipitate is separated by filtration and dried in the air under certain conditions. n EFFECT: method allows to use of raw materials more efficiently, to reduce energy consumption and to improve the product consumer appeal, to increase the antioxidant activity of melanin. n 1 tbl, 9 ex
