abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: method involves acid treatment of phosphogypsum with mixed solution comprising sulfuric acid together with phosphoric acid, to form a solid phase and an acidic solution. The resulting solid phase in the form of gypsum-containing material is treated with water to form a slurry, which is separated into a solid phase, in the form of the washed gypsum-containing material, and a liquid phase which is combined with thr acidic solution of said treatment and is subjected to ion exchange filtration to obtain the residual acid filtrate.
