titleOfInvention | Method of determining specific activity of strontium-90 in milk or milk whey with concentration of radionuclide at the level of mpc or below |
abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and specifically to analysis of milk products, and can be used for determining specific activity of strontium-90 (Sr-90) in milk or milk whey with concentration of radionuclide at the level of MPC or below. For this purpose concentration of Sr-90 (Y-90) is increased due to deposition on manganese dioxide when acidifying milk or milk whey with concentrated hydrochloric acid (HCl) to pH of 5.2±0.1. Sorbent is then separated from the milk or milk whey, sorbent is washed, dried and its specific activity is measured for 60 minutes on the parent element Y-90. Measurement is carried out on beta-detector of gamma-, beta-spectrometric complex "Progress". n EFFECT: invention enables to determine specific activity of Sr-90 in milk or milk whey at the level of MPC or below. n 1 cl, 2 tbl, 2 ex |
