titleOfInvention | Production of hypereutectic steel rail with quenched head |
abstract | FIELD: process engineering. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hear treatment of steel rails. Claimed process comprises the quenching of the steel rail head. Steel rail features the steel composition including the following elements, wt %: 0.86-1.00 of carbon, 0.40-0.75 of manganese, 0.40-1.00 of silicon, 0.05-0.15 of vanadium, 0.015-0.030 of titanium and nitrogen in amount sufficient for reaction with titanium for titanium nitride formation. Cooling is realized in two steps. Note here that, at the first step, accelerated cooling is performed from initial temperature of 775°c to 750°C for 0 to 20 s to intermediate temperature of approx 670° to 610°C. At the second step, the cooling is performed from intermediate temperature of 670°C to 610°C to approx 550-500°C at the cooling rate lower than that of accelerated cooling. n EFFECT: higher wear resistance owing to rail higher hardness. n 24 cl, 3 ex, 5 tbl, 9 dwg |
