abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: presented oral care composition for reducing dental hypersensitivity contains: the basic amino acid arginine in the free form or in the form of salt - 0.1 to 20 wt % of the composition weight; and calcium silicate particles - 5 to 20 wt % of the composition weight, wherein the calcium silicate particles have an average diameter from 2 microns to 5 microns, and the particles have d50 from 2 mcm to 5 mcm, and d90 from 5 mcm to 10 mcm, and a cumulative volume percentage with a particle diameter 3.95 mcm or less (CVP 3.95) 50%. Calcium silicate has pH from 8.4 to 11.2 in 5% solution, possess a surface area from 20 to 400 m 2 /g and pore volume from 0.01 to 1 cm 3 /g. The oral care composition provides a fluid flow rate of no more than approximately 45% from a fluid flow rate through etched dentin. n EFFECT: method for oral care involves using the above composition in the individual's oral cavity in an amount effective for reducing dental hypersensitivity and achieving other advantages. n 7 cl, 3 tbl, 2 ex
