abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: result is achieved by producing a continuous flat sheet of elastometic material for an internal sealing layer of a pneumatic type, wherein provided is a continuous sheet having an average thickness of 10 to 500 mcm and comprising a dynamically vulcanised mix of process resin and functionalised poly(isobutylene/alkyl styrene copolymer), as well as the plasticiser alkyl- or aryl sulphonamide in an amount of 10 wt % by weight of the continuous flat sheet. That is followed by heating a surface of the continuous flat sheet in the presence of a fluid oxygen medium for at least 30 seconds at temperature within the range of 60°C to 250°C, whereas tensioning of a continuous section of the elastometic material makes less than 5.0 g/cm·mcm. Thereafter, a reaction product formed by heating is recovered.
