titleOfInvention Method for stating need for laser de-epithelisation of gingival pockets in treating chronic generalised periodontitis
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical dentistry, namely to a method for stating the need for laser de-epithelisation of a gingival pocket (GP) in treating chronic generalised periodontitis at the stage of initial therapy. Substance of the method consists in assessing clinical indices, microbiological values of the GP contents with using an inoculating culture, conducting the bacteriological study of the gingival biopsy material, measuring Candida spp. and opportunistic bacteria in the GP content and gingival biopsy material, and conducting a clinical examination. The GP laser de-epithelisation is performed if observing the indices PMA >50%, Svrakov's iodine value >2.7 and Mulleman's iodine value >1.5 points and having gingival biopsy material Candida spp. found in an amount of 2 lg CFU/ml. If the gingival biopsy material is free from Candida spp. alongside with no clinically manifested periodontal inflammation accompanied by the indices PMA <50%, Svrakov's iodine value <2.7 and Mulleman's iodine value <1.5, additional criteria that are an amount of Candida spp. in the GP contents are measured. If it is found in an amount of 4 lg CFU/ml and more, whereas the gingival biopsy material contains opportunistic bacteria in an amount of 4 lg CFU/ml and more with the opportunistic bacteria content in the gingival pocket of 6 lg CFU/ml with assessing the parameters of haemolytic activity and antibiotic resistance, the laser de-epithelisation of the gingival pocket is performed. n EFFECT: using the declared method enables stating the need for the GP laser de-epithelisation more effectively in treating chronic generalised periodontitis. n 3 tbl, 1 dwg, 4 ex
