abstract |
FIELD: agriculture. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agricultural fumigation, to the methods of field processing for growing valuable crops and the methods of maintaining the contact of volatile fumigants with soil. The fumigant is applied into or onto the soil surface. The fumigant comprises at least one volatile substance. The soil is covered with a multilayer polymeric film which at least partially comprises a fumigant. The film comprises PVDC barrier layer which allows the fumigant to diffuse through the covered soil and the protective layers on each side of the barrier layer. The barrier layer comprises at least one interpolymer of alkyl acrylate and vinylidene chloride. The barrier layer is less than about 10% of the thickness of the film. At least one of the protective layers is a UV-protective layer. The UV-protective layer comprises at least one component selected from the group consisting of carbon black, HALS, benzophenone, and their combinations. n EFFECT: reduction of an effective amount of the fumigants; the amount of volatile substances that pass into the atmosphere; the size of the buffer zones is ensured. n 42 cl, 7 tbl |
