titleOfInvention Method of extracting 4-nitrotoluene
abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of extracting 4-nitrotoluene from nitrotoluene mixtures, specifically a method of extracting 4-nitrotoluene from a mixture of mononitrotoluene isomers or from a mixture of nitrotoluenes containing up to 20% dinitrotoluenes by freezing out. Freezing out is carried out in a sulphuric acid medium with concentration of 26-75.5%, preferably 70%. The weight ratio of mononitrotoluene or nitrotoluene mixture to sulphuric acid is kept in the range of 1:1-3, preferably 1:2. n EFFECT: method enables to extract 4-nitrotoluene without using an organic solvent with an acceptable output and high purity. n 2 cl, 1 tbl, 1 ex
