abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: agents for deactivating soils contaminated with radioactive elements contains poly-N,N-dialkyl-3,4-dimethylene pyrrolidinium halogenide of general formula wherein R1 and R2 independently mean linear or branched alkyl with 1-6 carbon atoms, and X means fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine or tetrafluoroborate with an average molecular weight of the polymer making from 75,000 to 100,000 g/mole. What is also declared is a method for deactivating soils contaminated with radioactive elements with using the above agents. n EFFECT: substance binds the radioactive elements, reduces the content of their water-soluble forms, has the prolonged effect on soil structure and yield, simplifies the process of deactivating the soils contaminated with the radioactive elements. n 8 cl, 8 tbl, 6 ex
