abstract | FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to obtaining non-toxic composite materials, such as polymer clay for artistic modelling, and can be used in industry for moulding products of any shapes and sizes. Polymer clay has the following composition, wt %: starch - 65-85, binding agent - latex of carboxyl-containing copolymer or its mixture with latexes of other copolymers - 15-35, plasticiser - mixture of glycerol and its esters with carboxylic acids, if necessary - 0-7, preservative sodium benzoate, if necessary - 0-0.5, colorant, if necessary 0-5. Obtained material is homogeneous, soft, does not stick to hands, preserves shape well in production of components of different size and thickness. Finished product dries completely in air at room temperature within 10-24 hours. n EFFECT: invention makes it possible for polymer clay to have high plasticity and ability to harden with preservation of shape in air at room temperature without formation of cracks, possesses high time of viability. n 6 ex |
