abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 4-hydroxy-5-(R-1H-pyrazole)-benzene-1,2-dicarbonitriles of general formula , given below, where R=OH, or CH 3 , or C 6 H 5 , or 4-CH 3 C 6 H 4 , or 4-OCH 3 C 6 H 4 , or 2-thienyl; R 1 =CH 3 , or C 6 H 5 , or 3-pyridyl; R 2 =H or C 6 H 5 . Said compounds can be used as precursors for synthesis of biologically active substances and for synthesis of phthalocyanines and hexazocyclanes. The method of producing 4-hydroxy-5-(R-1H-pyrazole)-benzene-1,2-dicarbonitriles includes reacting substituted benzofuran-5,6-dicarbonitriles with a hydrazine hydrate or phenylhydrazine. n EFFECT: use of the disclosed synthesis method enables to obtain novel ortho-dicarbonitriles containing a pyrazole ring. n 13 ex
