FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an aromatic polycarbonate resin and an aromatic polycarbonate resin obtained using said method. An aromatic polycarbonate is cross-linked with an aliphatic diol compound having a boiling point of 240°C or higher (preferably in amount of 0.01-1.0 mol per mol of the total amount of terminal groups of the aromatic polycarbonate), via a cross-esterification reaction in the presence of a cross-esterification catalyst at low pressure (preferably in the range of 13-0.01 kPa(abs) (100-0.01 Torr)). n EFFECT: high molecular weight of the aromatic polycarbonate resin while maintaining good quality of the resin. n 13 cl, 3 tbl, 23 ex |
