abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for potentiometric determination of anionic and cationic surfactants, such as alkyl sodium sulphates, alkylpyridinium and tetraalkylammonium salts in multicomponent mixtures, detergent and cleaning compositions, process solutions, waste water and medicinal preparations. According to the invention, an ion-selective electrode membrane consists of polyvinyl chloride as a polymer matrix, dibutyl phthalate as a plasticiser and an electrode-active compound containing copper and sodium dodecyl sulphate, wherein the electrode-active compound further contains 1,10-phenanthroline, wherein the copper, 1, 10-phenanthroline and sodium dodecyl sulphate are taken in ratio of 1:2:2, respectively, and components of the membrane are in a certain weight ratio. n EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a polymer membrane which is sensitive to homologues of alkylpyridinium, tetraalkylammonium and alkyl sodium sulphates, and producing an ion-selective electrode based on said membrane, for rapid quantitative determination of ionic surfactants in water bodies. n 4 ex, 5 tbl, 11 dwg
