abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of obtaining a polyvinylbutyral polymer and to a polyvinylbutyral polymer, obtained by the said method. The method includes the supply of a mixer with high shear effort, introduction of continuous flow of polyvinyl alcohol into the said mixer with the high shear effort; introduction of a continuous butyraldehyde flow into the said mixer with the high shear effort; mixing the said flows in the area of the said mixer with the shear rate, constituting at least 20 s -1 . The temperature in the mixing area constitutes from 40°C to 100°C. After that processing of the said polyvinylbutyral polymer from the said mixer is carried out. n EFFECT: continuous process of obtaining polyvinylbutyral, reduction of the required amount of energy in comparison with the traditional method due to the application of one cycle of cooling and heating. n 16 cl, 1 ex
