abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: preoperative blood hemopoietins are measured by describing an amplitude, a time of development and a membrane potential recovery rate associated with Ca 2+ -induced erythrocyte hyperpolarising response (HPR); blood concentrations of erythropoietin (EPO) and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) are also determined. If they are found to belong to respective confidential intervals, the postoperative blood free haemoglobin concentration Y is determined by formula.
