abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to field of medicine and can be used for determination of presence of clinically relevant quantity of bacteria in donor blood or tissue. method of detecting bacterial contamination of donor blood, or blood product, or donor tissue from mammal-donor, preserved in liquid, consists in contact of sample to be analysed with a series of generic antibodies, which specifically bind with Gram-negative bacterial antigen and/or Gram-positive bacterial antigen, and detection of binding of the series with the sample. Presence of bacteria in quantity higher than 1×103 CFU of bacteria per ml of sample indicates unsuitability of donor blood, blood product or tissue for transfer to patient, with absence of said quantity of bacterial indicating suitability of donor blood, product or donor tissue for transfer to patient.
