titleOfInvention Method of formation of musculoskeletal stump for wearing cosmetic eye prosthesis after enucleation in children of pre-school and primary school age
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: eyeball is ablated, implantation of an orbital implant with fixation of the protruding cylinder to soft tissues in the area of the orbit apex is realised. Recti extraocular muscles are fixed to the endoprosthesis, sutures are applied on the Tenon's capsule, the submucous layer and on the conjunctiva. The cosmetic eye prosthesis is installed. Before implantation of the orbital implant in children the paired eye length (PEL) is measured on the anterio-posterior axis and a diameter of the orbital implant (DOI) is determined: in children under 2 years old the DOI=PEL length; in children from 2 to 5 years old the DOI=PEL - 1 mm; in children from 5 to 10 years old the DOI=PEL - 2 mm. The obtained DOI value is approximated to an integer value. The cosmetic eye prosthesis with deep concavity and with central set is selected from the set of mass eye prostheses. n EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase quality of eye prosthetics, which is achieved due to calculation of the orbital implant diameter, providing the required volume to the formed musculoskeletal stump with taking into account future growth of the orbit and the paired eye. n 1 ex
