titleOfInvention Method for formation of locomotor stump for cosmetic ocular prosthesis after eye enucleation
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: eyeball is removed; an orbital implant is implanted, and a projecting cylinder is fixed to soft tissues within an orbital apex. The oculomotor rectus muscles are fixed to an endoprosthesis; the Tenon's capsule, the submucous membrane and the conjunctiva are sutured. A cosmetic ocular prosthesis is placed. Before implanting the orbital implant, the paired eye length (PEL) is measured along the anterior-posterior axis, and the orbital implant diameter (OID) is determined as OID=PEL-3 mm. The derived OID is rounded to an integral value. The deep concave and centrally seated cosmetic eye prosthesis is specified among bulk eye prostheses. n EFFECT: method ensures a symmetric standing level of the prosthesis in relation to the paired eye and a symmetry of the palpebral fissures that is ensured by calculating a diameter of the orbital implant providing the required volume of the formed locomotor stump. n 1 ex
