abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: claimed is method of measuring HNO 3 concentration in air, in which, in accordance with the invention, air, containing nitric acid vapours, is passed through cold reactor; current (background) concentration of NO 2 in air is measured and its value is stored in microprocessor unit as C 1 , then reactor is heated to temperature 250-350°C, concentration of NO 2 , separated in the process of thermal HNO 3 decomposition, is measured, its value is stored in microprocessor unit as C 2 and concentration of nitric acid vapours in air in determined by specific formula. Also claimed is device for realisation of method, described above, which contains air-intake pipe (1), flow booster (5) for air pumping, sensor (4) for measuring NO 2 concentration in air and microprocessor unit (8) for control of device operation and memorising values of NO 2 concentration, in which, in accordance with the invention, reactor (2) with periodically heated catalyst is installed at inlet into air intake pipe (1). n EFFECT: method improvement. n 4 cl, 2 dwg
