The cell is transformed such that it contains at least one nucleic acid sequence which encodes an enzyme involved in oligosaccharide synthesis. The cell is further transformed such that it contains at least one nucleic acid sequence which encodes a protein of the sugar efflux transporter family, or functional homologue thereof.
