titleOfInvention Radiation detector
abstract FIELD: physics. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation detectors overall. In particular, the invention relates to a flexible bearing mechanism for elements of a radiation detector and a method for maintenance of the radiation detector. The radiation detector (20) has an instrument casing (24), having a substantially cylindrical tubular shape, a radiation sensor (42) designed to generate a signal in response to detection of radiation and configured to be mounted in the instrument casing (24), a signal processor (44) configured for functional connection with the radiation sensor (42) and designed to receive a signal from the radiation sensor and generate an electrical signal as a function of the received signal, wherein the signal processor is configured to be mounted in the instrument casing (24), a flexible sleeve (22) designed to hold the radiation sensor (42) or the signal processor (44) or both in the instrument casing (24) and having a substantially cylindrical part (60) and a polygonal part (62), which passes coaxial to the cylindrical part while providing engagement and confining interaction with that part. n EFFECT: reduced damage to the instrument casing when installing or removing the detector. n 8 cl, 7 dwg
