abstract |
FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protective coatings, particularly a hybrid polymer coating. The method of producing a coating composition involves obtaining a reaction product of (a) a hybrid copolymer containing (i) a first monomer containing a hydroxy-functional organoacrylate and (ii) a second monomer containing an organoalkoxysilane; and (b) providing a second material containing an organoalkoxysilane. The hybrid copolymer and said second material are taken in ratio of 1-50 wt % hybrid copolymer per total mass of the hybrid copolymer and second material. The first monomer can be a hydroxy-functional acrylate and/or hydroxyalkyl acrylate. The second monomer can be trialkoxysilane.
