titleOfInvention Method for choosing dental bur for finish polishing of dentin surface in treating caries
abstract FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dentistry, and may be used for choosing a dental bur for finish polishing of a dentine surface in treating caries. Carious cavity surfaces are processed with finish burs to be tested. A filling procedure is combined with inserting a silver post of the length of 1 mm and the diameter of 0.1 mm at the interface of dental tissue and a filling material to be tightly pressed to the bottom and wall of the carious cavity; an upper base plane of the post matches with a filling surface plane. Electrical conductivity is measured between the dental tissues and the filling material in points along the perimetre of the filling border including the silver post. An electrolyte microdrop is applied on the measurement point. The electrolyte is prepared by mixing 1H hydrochloric acid 97 ml and potassium hydrochloride 50 ml. The mixture is reduced to the amount of 200 ml with distilled water. The greatest electrical conductivity is measured. The measurement results are compared. The bur having the least electrical conductivity is to be preferred. n EFFECT: method enables improving the filling boundary permeability ensured by a possibility to choose a finish bur for a specific filling material. n 1 tbl
