abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of enriching a photosynthesising microorganism, selected from green algae and blue-green algae with organic selenium. The photosynthesising microorganism is cultured in a medium containing a compound of the type of selenium-containing hydroxy acid of general formula , with a salt, ester or amide derivative of said acid. Content of organic selenium in the green algae or blue-green algae is higher than 1000 mcgSe/g of dry weight.
