titleOfInvention Multilayer cathode unit
abstract FIELD: metallurgy. n SUBSTANCE: proposed unit has at least one surface layer with surface expansion factor and second layer with second expansion factor. Surface layer comprises surface wetting agent at first total amount. Second layer comprises wetting agent at second total amount. Surface layer is applied directly on second layer. Second wetting agent in second layer comprises precursors of interacting metal borides to form metal boride in-situ by application of electrolytic cell starting and operating effects to cathode unit. Second total amount is smaller than first one and selected to minimise difference between first and second layer surface expansion factors. Invention covers also the method of making said multilayer cathode unit. n EFFECT: higher quality and lower costs. n 25 cl, 3 dwg, 4 ex
