abstract FIELD: chemistry. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering and techniques for producing veterinary, medical and pharmaceutical preparations. The method of producing a novel antiviral substance based on 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid and gelatine includes oxidising 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid with laccase enzyme to intermediate phyenoxy radicals and semiquinones, which are then copolymerised with gelatine, and separating the obtained copolymer from low-molecular weight components by dialysis; optimum concentrations of components of the reaction mixture are as follows: 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid - 15-80 mM, gelatine - 1-13 mg/ml reaction mixture, laccase - 0.5-10 units of activity/ml reaction mixture. n EFFECT: obtained copolymer has antiviral activity on herpesvirus, particularly Aujeszky's disease virus. n 2 tbl, 1 dwg, 3 ex
