FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics. n SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to an immunogenic composition containing 13 various polysaccharide-protein conjugates and methods for preparing the conjugates. Each conjugate contains a capsular polysaccharide prepared of the other serotype of Streptococcus pneumoniae (1, 3, 4, 5, 6A, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F and 23F) conjugated with a carrier protein. A method for preparing the immunogenic conjugate containing the polysaccharide Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 3 covalently bound to the carrier protein which involves oxidation of hydrolysed polysaccharide type 3 in periodic acid in the presence of Mg 2+ or Ca 2+ cations. n EFFECT: immunogenic composition presented in the form of a vaccine; it extends the range of action against the diseases caused by pneumococci in infants and toddlers all over the world, and covers the serotypes 6A and 19A regardless of the specificity of the serogroup cross-protection. n 30 cl, 3 dwg, 6 tbl, 17 ex |
