abstract | FIELD: medicine. n SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular opthalmology, and may be used for treating the patients with a "dry" form of age-related macular degeneration. That is combined with using lutein-containing antioxidants and carotenoids for one year every 2-3 months. Fenofibrate (Tricor 145) is additionally used for a period of time long enough to normalise a lipid profile and to maintain the above values at the attained level.
